To learn more about panic disorder symptoms, we need to take a look at what are the symptoms of panic attack. Here are the most common symptoms that have been medically identified:
a. palpitations, pounding heart, an irregular heartbeat, or accelerated heart rate
b. chills or hot flushes
c. trembling or shaking
d. numbness or tingling sensations (paresthesias)
e. feeling of choking effect
f. fear of losing control or going crazy
g. nausea or abdominal distress
h. dizziness, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint
i. feelings of unreality (derealization) or being detached from oneself (depersonalization)
j. chest pain or discomfort
k. fear of dying
l. sensations of shortness of breath or smothering feelingnumbness or tingling sensations (paresthesias)
m. sweating profuselychills or hot flushes
Of course, anyone having a panic attack would not show all the symptoms at once. They should show at least four or more of the panic attacks symptoms listed above. However, if fewer than four of the above panic attack symptoms are seen, then it could be considered as a limited-symptom panic attack. It should
also be noted that after having a panic attack, the individual may continue to experience extreme anxiety for several hours.
To be classified as panic disorder symptoms, then there must be at least two recurring and spontaneous panic attacks. Panic disorder can mimic or coexist with many other medical or psychological disorders. Therefore it is important that other conditions be ruled out. Have a discussion with your doctor
